The DAR was founded in 1890 as a volunteer service organization for women.  The Society has three main objectives:  patriotism, historic preservation, and education.

DAR has about 170,000 members throughout the United States and the world.  Membership is based upon documented lineal ancestry, linking each member to a Patriot in the American Revolution.

To learn more about becoming a member, visit the National Society Website or contact the Battle of Alamance Chapter Regent.
