Any woman, age eighteen or older, who can prove she is a descendant of a patriot of the American Revolution can join. You can go to the National Society DAR membership page for more information.

Who is a Patriot

A patriot is anyone who supported the cause for American independence. This might be a citizen who served in a government position, such as a juror, someone who served in the military, or someone who gave material aid to troops or the government. Many patriots are already documented, but some are not. Our members may be able to help you locate the necessary documentation.
