The Leonard's Creek Chapter, NSDAR, is dedicated to the mission of the DAR in promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America’s future through better education for children. The chapter sponsors activities in each area of focus including the following:

Historic Preservation

  • Mark graves of local Revolutionary War figures
  • Promote the preservation of local historical sites, venues, and monuments
  • Support the National Society in preservation of NSDAR buildings
  • Participate in local historic programs, tours, and events

Promoting Patriotism

  • Support U.S. veterans
  • Observe Flag Day, Memorial Day, and Veterans Day
  • Recognize local veterans


  • Present Constitution Week programs in elementary schools
  • Participate in Bells Across America on Sept. 17 to honor signing of the Constitution
  • Sponsor American History Essay Contests for grades five and six
  • Organize DAR Good Citizens Essay Contest for high school seniors
  • Support DAR schools
