Today’s DAR video
This video, hosted on YouTube, highlights the vibrant, active organization the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is today.

Welcome!

Welcome to the Major Benjamin May Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) website. Chapter members have served North Carolina, the community, and the nation through the missions of NSDAR for over 90 years, finding ways to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism. We participate in many community activities, support local schools, and support our veterans.

Our Patriot, Major Benjamin May, was an American Revolutionary War hero, who returned home after the war and continued service to his community in North Carolina. This chapter was organized February 23, 1926, by a group of women who shared the spirit of serving and developing citizenship. Today’s membership represents a wide variety of interests and ages, united by the umbrella of love for country, history, and education.

Potential members are encouraged to contact us (see the menu on left). We would be pleased to help answer questions about meetings, membership, projects, or activities. We actively support the expansion of our library’s genealogy collections and a designated Genealogy Room for research. Our chapter registrar will be happy to assist with the membership process.
