Service Projects

The Richard Clinton Chapter, NSDAR, is dedicated to the mission of the DAR in promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America’s future through better education for children. The chapter sponsors activities in each area of focus including the following:

Historic Preservation

  • Mark graves of American Revolutionary War Soldiers
  • Support the National Society in preservation of NSDAR buildings
  • Participate in local historic programs, tours, and events

Patriotism

  • Support the U.S. Veteran
  • Observe and help with Memorial and Veterans Day celebrations
  • Observe and promote Constitution Week through a ceremony at the Courthouse
  • Recognize local veterans and their service to America

Education

  • Present Constitution Week programs
  • Participate in Bells Across America
  • Sponsor the American History Essay Contest for grades five through eight
  • Organize the Christopher Columbus Essay Contest for grades 9 through 12
  • Sponsor the DAR Good Citizens program and Scholarship Contest for high school seniors
  • Support the DAR schools and homes
