National Society Daughters of the American Revolution

New Bern, North Carolina

We the people of the United States in order to form a more perfect union...

In 1921, twelve fine ladies of the city of New Bern applied for and received a charter from the National  Society Daughters of the American Revolution to form a chapter in New Bern, North Carolina.  The chapter honors Richard Dobbs Spaight, one of the signers of the Constitution of the United States of America, and a resident of the city of New Bern.

We are a chapter with history in a city with history.

In 2011, we celebrated the 90th Anniversary of our charter.  In 2010, the city of New Bern celebrated its 300th Anniversary.

We also honor Gertrude Sprague Carraway, a strong, guiding force, not only in our chapter as Daughter and regent, and to the National Society as (Past)President General, but to our nation.
