Chapter and Membership Information
"God Bless America!"
    Greenville was home to a DAR Chapter known as the Greenville Patriots that was organized in 1932. It was only in existence for a short period of time and then disbanded. The Susanna Coutanch Evans Chapter was organized on May 17, 1979, under organizing Regent, Doris Ballengee, with 17 members.
    The chapter began with a focus toward education and the promotion of patriotism.

Greenville, North Carolina
   Greenville, the county seat of Pitt County, is recognized as the hub of Eastern NC, with a population of 60,000, and is home to East Carolina University and the University Medical Center of Eastern Carolina.

     Our chapter is named for Susanna Coutanch Evans, in recognition of her generous donation of the land on which this city was founded.
