The Thomas Person Chapter, NSDAR, welcomes your interest in our organization. Regular meetings take place on the second Saturday of each month from September through May. Please contact us by email to learn more about our chapter meetings. By attending a meeting, you will meet members who have the experience to assist you in obtaining your goal of membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution. You can go to the NSDAR membership page for more information.

Our members are from diverse backgrounds and have a variety of interests. Our common bond is a lineal descent from Patriots of the American Revolution. Any woman over the age of 18, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, who can prove this lineage is eligible to join.

Steps to submit your membership papers

  • Step one—Find your lineage
  • Step two—Identify your patriot ancestor
  • Step three—Find a chapter
  • Step four—With guidance from the chapter, submit your paperwork

Membership in the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is a unique opportunity to honor your lineage and heritage as a descendant of a Patriot of the American Revolutionary War. Our registrar and Lineage Research Committee will help you locate and document your patriot's service in order to prepare your application. Patriots, both men and women, are eligible if they provided one of the three categories of service.

  • Military Service—Service in the Continental Army or Navy, Marines, state or local militias and privateers.
  • Civil Service—Those who conducted the business of new federal, state, county and town governments and displayed loyalty to the cause.
  • Patriotic Service—Those whose actions demonstrated unfailing loyalty to the cause as a prisoner of war, doctor or nurse, minister, signer of an Oath of Allegiance, member of a committee, furnishing supplies or many other actions.
