Membership

Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal descent from a Patriot of the American Revolutionary War is eligible for membership. You are welcome to visit one of our meetings where we can answer questions about membership, projects, or activities. Our chapter registrar will be happy to assist with the membership process. You can go to the National Society DAR membership webpage for more information.

Visit our chapter

Please feel free to just send us an email (see the Contact Us button on the left) if you are interested in attending a meeting or to find out more about our chapter. Let us know the best way to contact you. You may attend a chapter meeting even if you have not completed a DAR application or have not found a patriot ancestor in your lineage. By attending a local chapter meeting, you will meet DAR members who have the experience to assist you in completing a application for DAR membership.

DAR application process

For the application, you will be asked to provide proof of lineage for each generation, starting with yourself then going back lineally to your patriot. Such proof may include birth, marriage and sometimes death records. The chapter registrar or chapter lineage research chairman can help explain the types of documentation needed for each generation. Please visit the National Society DAR Genealogy webpage for more information.
