CAR Mission:
The National Society of
the Children of the American Revolution trains good citizens, develops
leaders and promotes love of the United States of America and its
heritage among young people.
North Carolina Society CAR
currently has over 300 members
(birth up to age 22).

Suggestions for the CAR Committee in your DAR Chapter:
CAR
Committee Chapter Chairman—has
overall knowledge of the CAR and coordinates the committee’s efforts.
She promotes membership in the CAR and informs Chapter members about
the current CAR programs and meetings
at the NC state CAR site and
the national site at
www.nscar.org.
Suggestions:
-
Speak
at your DAR Chapter meetings
encouraging members to submit CAR applications for children,
grandchildren, and family members.
Promote Life Membership in the
CAR. Enlist other Chapter members to serve as CAR leaders
and help prepare new CAR member applications; promote dual
membership in the CAR / DAR at age 18.

Invite CAR members to participate with your DAR Chapter:
Constitution Week—plan
for CAR to help create displays and participate in bell ringing
ceremonies.
Mountain Schools—invite
CAR members to participate in projects—collecting back to school
supplies and a Christmas toy drive.
Veterans—invite
the CAR to help collect items and help fill Christmas stockings
Wreath Laying
Ceremonies—invite CAR
members to march with your Chapter
Invite
CAR members to special occasion teas or luncheons.
Invite CAR members to
participate as Flag Bearers leading a procession of Chapter Officers.
Complete the CAR
Section of the DAR Master Questionnaire and submit by the
deadline.

American Freedom Bell at the Charlotte Museum of History—(for the
maintenance of the bell and structure).
Honor a DAR member who
has actively supported the CAR and present them with a NCSCAR Cape
Hatteras lighthouse pin $15 (proceeds go to the NCSCAR general fund)
National Donations:
National and Life Promoters are individuals who have made donations to
promote the goals of the NSCAR. The promoters are recognized in the
NSCAR Magazine, and Life Promoters receive a subscription to the CAR
Magazine for life.

Honor a DAR member with
a national pin such as the Endowment Fund pin or the Golden Apple Pins
(for a donation to the Museum Fund), celebrating the 100th

National
Project 2011-2012 will
raise funds for the Fisher House Foundation which provides
“comfort homes” on the grounds of major military and Veterans Affairs
medical centers. These homes are made available for families of those
being treated to stay free of charge, allowing them to be close to their
loved ones in their time of need.

Fisher House. There are 54 Fisher Houses located throughout the Untied
States and in Germany and 16 currently in the planning, design, or
construction phase.
