Membership

Any woman, age eighteen and over, who can prove she is a direct descendant of a Patriot of the American Revolution is eligible to join. Our members can help you locate the necessary proof if you think you are eligible but don’t yet have the documentation. You can go to the National Society DAR membership page for more information.

Application process

For the application, you will need to provide vital statistics and links for each generation, starting with yourself then going back lineally to your Patriot. Our chapter registrar can help explain the types of documentation needed. You can also go to the NSDAR genealogy page for information to help guide you through the beginning stages of your research.

Who is a Patriot?

A Patriot is anyone who supported the cause for American independence through military, civil, or patriotic service, which must occur during the period between 19 April 1775 and 26 November 1783. For a list of acceptable service see the Accepted Revolutionary War Service page for more information.

Visit our chapter

We have chapter meetings once a month from September through May. Our programs focus on historical topics, genealogy, and volunteer efforts. We welcome visitors and prospective members. By attending a meeting, you will meet DAR members who have experience to assist you in obtaining DAR membership. Please contact us by email (see the menu on left) for more information about our chapter or for an invitation to one of our meetings.
