Crossnore Sign
The Crossnore School was founded in 1913 by Drs. Eustace and Mary Martin Sloop. Today, Crossnore continues to serve children in need from North Carolina. Children live, learn, and prosper in a loving home environment.

Activities

Our chapter has many volunteer activities.
Below is a list of a few that are ongoing:

  • Observe Constitution Week in September
  • Participate in the DAR Good Citizens Award program and scholarship contest
  • Support Crossnore School and Communities for Children
  • Participate in projects to support active military men and women
  • Support veterans at the W.G. Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina
  • Participate in events to commemorate historical events
  • Commemorate the Tryon Resolves which vowed resistance to coercive actions by the government of Great Britain against its North American colonies. The document was signed on August 14, 1775.
  • Participate in Project Patriot to support armed forces abroad
