Welcome to the Grimes–Mayo Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR). The Grimes–Mayo Chapter, NSDAR, members are committed to promoting the DAR goals of historic preservation, education, and patriotism. Our chapter is made up of enthusiastic ladies of all ages, backgrounds, and talents. We enjoy our volunteer activities and are proud to make a difference in the lives of our community, state, and country. In addition to our regular monthly meetings, our chapter sponsors educational awards and scholarships, supports Crossnore School and Children’s Home, and our veterans. We honor our revolutionary ancestors, recognize outstanding citizens in our area, and sponsor history essays. We invite you to join our chapter.

DAR membership is rewarding. Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal and bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence is eligible to join the DAR. Please contact us (see button in the left menu) if you would like to attend one of our meetings or talk with someone about our chapter. Our registrar and Lineage Committee are willing to help you find ways to document your lineage. Grimes–Mayo Chapter, NSDAR, members host a meeting for DAR members in eastern North Carolina so they can learn about historic preservation, lineage research, community classroom efforts, genealogical records, patriot records, and other goals of DAR.
