We meet as a chapter on the second Wednesday of the month, September through May. Our focus is to promote the DAR objectives of historic preservation, education, and patriotism through many interesting chapter programs and activities. We honor our revolutionary ancestors, recognize outstanding citizens, and volunteer in the area.
We enjoy our volunteer activities and are proud to make a difference in the lives of our community, state, and country. We look forward to our time with veterans at the Durham VA Medical Center by providing items such as gift cards, clothing, personal hygiene kits, and our beloved homemade lap blankets. Our chapter participates in the annual DAR Day of Service with activities such as cleaning gravestones at Oakwood Cemetery, assisting with the Diaper Train, and volunteering at the Food Bank. We honor members of the military at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Day Commemoration at Historic Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh, North Carolina.
