Activities

What we do

Our Daughters enjoy our DAR service work and fellowship. For approximately 100 years, our chapter has actively served the community, the state, and the nation through outreach to soldiers, veterans, school children, civic groups, and cultural arts groups.

  • We support the DAR projects.
  • Our membership conducts the DAR American History Essay Contest, the Christopher Columbus Contest, and the DAR Good Citizens Contest and Scholarship Contest in local schools, and invites winners to present their entries at our meeting.
  • We work with our library and museum on patriotic occasions.
  • We prepared meals for the Ronald McDonald House and local Hospice center.
  • Our chapter provided treats for first responders in appreciation for the service they provide the community.
  • We award DAR medals to nearby Army and Air Force ROTC units.
  • We present National Defense Youth Citizenship awards in local schools.
  • Our chapter sponsors a society of the Children of the American Revolution (C.A.R.).
