How to Join
Any woman, age 18 and over, who can prove lineal descent from a Patriot of the American Revolutionary War is eligible for membership. Our members can help you locate the necessary proof if you think you are eligible but do not yet have the documentation. You can go to the National Society DAR membership page for more information.
Who is a Patriot?
A Patriot is anyone who supported the cause for American independence through military, civil, or patriotic service, which must occur during the period between 19 April 1775 and 26 November 1783. For a list of acceptable service see the Accepted Revolutionary War Service page for more information.
